BABEL - Life

This is part 1 of my graduation project that I have worked on for the past 11 weeks. I took the basic premise of the classic tale from the Bible: The Tower of Babel, a story where the people are trying to build the biggest structure ever conceived with the goal to reach heaven.

This whole project would be a concept for an animated movie where the viewer would follow an old journalist and a local girl up the tower and experience the whole thing through their eyes.

Arrival:
An old explorer arrives on the tower with one goal, to reach the top. On his way he meets a local girl who is looking for her father. In the heart of the tower you can find many villages on the various pillars, the atmosphere is lively and productive. The team is making their way through and up, passing by all kinds of different little makeshift huts. It is clear that the underlying structure was not build the same way as the little wood houses attached on walls.
